Committee and Constitution

The current CDEF committee is:

  1. Jonathan Jee (Vicar, St Paul’s Leamington) as Chair (appointed 9 Oct 2018 to serve 3 years)
  2. Steve Burch (Vicar, St James Fletchamstead) as Vice-chair (appointed 9 Oct 2018 to serve 1 year initially)
  3. Stuart Allen (Rector, The South Warwickshire Seven) (appointed 9 Oct 2018 to serve 1 year initially)
  4. Alison Evans (Vicar, St Mary’s Attleborough) (appointed 9 Oct 2018 to serve 1 year initially)
  5. Becky Jones (Vicar, St Mary’s Leamington) (appointed 9 Oct 2018 to serve 1 year initially)
  6. Will Jones (Lay member) as Secretary and Treasurer (appointed 9 Oct 2018 to serve 3 years)

 

CONSTITUTION

  1. The aims of the Coventry Diocesan Evangelical Fellowship (“CDEF”) are to unite in fellowship all Evangelical Anglicans in the Coventry Diocese, and to foster and express their special contribution to the life of the Church.  The Fellowship’s basis of faith is that of the Church of England Evangelical Council (“CEEC”), including their two declarations.
  2. Membership is open to all clergy and laity who live or work in the Diocese, and who support the aims of the Fellowship and assent to the CEEC basis of faith and declarations.
  3. The CDEF Committee
    • shall consist of up to 8 elected members, with at least one lay person and one clergy person, to include the following roles:
      • a chairperson
      • a vice-chairperson
      • a secretary
      • a treasurer
    • shall have power to co-opt annually up to six other members to ensure good balances of gender, the different streams of evangelicalism and geographical representation; this power provides an opportunity  to  ensure  good links with the Bishop’s Council, General Synod and the Church of England Evangelical Council.
    • All members of the Committee shall be CDEF members committed to the Fellowship’s aims and its basis of faith, including the two declarations (see clause 1 above).
  1. The Annual Meeting shall appoint (for a term of three years) the Chairperson and up to 7 additional members of the committee. The committee will appoint its vice-chairperson, secretary and treasurer annually.
  2. The treasurer shall present to the Annual Meeting a statement of account of the Fellowship for the previous year. The CDEF Committee shall fix the amount of the membership subscription each year.
